PROVEN Leader | PROVEN Servant | PROVEN Fighter
John Quincy Adams said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” Peter Drucker said, “Effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked; leadership is defined by results, not attributes.” Whether it’s been managing a million-dollar racehorse operation in multiple locations, leading a multi-campus church ministry, overseeing a network of churches, or serving on the leadership team of a multi-state fellowship of over 320 churches, Bob has proven his ability to lead. His experience as a leader will serve us well in Columbus.
What do you do when you’re the most important person in a room full of people? You serve them. That’s what Jesus did one time when He was in a room full of people. He served them by washing their feet. Afterwards, He told them that a servant is not greater than the one who sent him.
For 15 years as a pastor, Bob has been serving people like us – people from all walks of life and all types of backgrounds. He has been serving poor, rich, and middle-class people from all over the region. He’s been serving black, white, biracial, and foreign people. He’s been serving successful, unsuccessful, professional, and blue-collar people. He has served them by meeting their needs – spiritual, emotional, and physical. PEOPLE MATTER. Bob has a heart for people.
Legendary NFL Coach, Vince Lombardi, said, “You carry on no matter what are the obstacles. You simply refuse to give up – and, when the going gets tough, you get tougher. And, you win.”
Bob has encountered many “tough” seasons along the way. Yet, in those seasons he got tougher and wouldn’t give up. That level of commitment and toughness has brought victory to him many times. It has kept him in this region when it would have been easy to move away. He’ll demonstrate this same level of commitment as he fights for the people, families, freedoms, faith, jobs, and schools of our 96th District.
